What is PROBUS?

Probus is a volunteer-based, non-profit, non-political, and non-sectarian fellowship organisation with over 4,000 clubs worldwide, including approximately 250 Canadian clubs with over 35,000 members.


Our clubs promote active minds and healthy social connections for retirees by offering engaging guest speakers, a variety of activities, social events, and opportunities to expand your knowledge and network within your community.

Who are the members of Probus Club of Harbourlands?

Our members are retired or nearly retired women from a variety of professional backgrounds.

Do I have to live in Collingwood?

Our members are primarily residents of Collingwood and the surrounding area.

Is participation in all activities required?

No, participation in activities and meetings is entirely optional. However, getting involved is the best way to meet new people and enjoy everything the club has to offer.

How much does it cost to be a member?

Membership costs $50 per person annually, plus a one time initiation fee of $20.

What is your membership year?

Membership is from September 1st to June 30th.

When does membership renewal take place?

The annual membership renewal campaign takes place from April 1 to May 15th. 


Payments are made by e-transfer or by cheque.

Can I bring a guest to a meeting?

Yes! We encourage members to bring guests so they can experience our club first-hand.


Guests may attend one meeting before deciding to apply for membership.


Does the club do fundraising activities?

No, Probus Clubs do not engage in fundraising. Our focus is on social connections, learning, and enjoyment.

How often are meetings held, and where?

Regular meetings take place from September to June on the third Thursday of each month at the Collingwood branch of The Royal Canadian Legion.
